"We are proud to support the first woman-owned IZOD IndyCar Series team," said Orland Wolford, during this afternoon's press conference. "Sarah's drive and determination, as a business owner and driver aligns with the foundation of TBC Retail Group. We look forward to watching her build this competitive team. This sponsorship provides a great venue for us to launch our Service Central brand to consumers, and we are thrilled to have IZOD IndyCar Series driver Jay Howard pilot our #66 Service Central IndyCar. His passion for this sport and skill behind the wheel is sure to get him noticed this year. We look forward to our inaugural IZOD IndyCar Series season with Sarah Fisher Racing. This will be a win-win for all of us."
Following the press conference, Howard completed 115 laps on the banked oval, before ending the day with strong speed and a positive outlook for next week's race.
"I am over the moon with our first test," said Howard. "The Service Central car was built perfectly by my crew at SFR and the test was a great success. It was great to unveil the No. 66 Service Central car today, and I couldn't be more excited to represent the Service Central brand. I am really looking forward to being back on track again, and I'm anxious to see how we do here next week."
Jay Howard, along with teammate Sarah Fisher, will return to Kansas Speedway next week for the Road Runner Turbo Indy 300, which will open the oval part of the season for SFR and the IZOD IndyCar Series. Kansas Speedway will be the first race of the 2010 season for both Fisher and Howard.
